We strive to be a warm and welcoming oasis and mini-shop for knitters and needlepointers alike. We gather to inspire, support and cajole each other through our projects. Beginners to advanced skill levels, all are welcome here!
Knitters’ Haven was originally launched under the sole proprietorship of Scottie Kuper in 2013 in Indian Wells. With the support and friendship of loyal customers of the former Ewe n Me yarn shop in La Quinta. Knitters Haven became a sanctuary of sorts, tucked away in a little corner of Indian Wells, where customers quickly became friends and friends became family. Needlepointing joined our thriving knitting community in 2018.
In January 2020 we relocated to a larger space in Old Town La Quinta, providing an opportunity to grow and embrace ever more needle enthusiasts across the valley. In August 2020, after 7 years, Knitters Haven was transformed into a 501c7, i.e., social club, with a Board of Directors and membership. The heavy load of business ownership is now distributed across the board with an even greater chance of outlasting the pandemic.
Knitters Haven has always and will be sustained primarily through membership dues. Additional income to sustain us is gained via drop-in fees, classes, and a wee bit of shopping, thus we encourage all to join in the fun!
